A route built around the high valleys
This trip goes from Gangtok up to Lachen, on to Gurudongmar, then across to Lachung and Yumthang before coming back down. It is a hill route with long drives and cold mornings. We keep the stays simple and close to the route so you are not losing hours on the road.

Day-wise Itinerary
Gangtok, Lachen, Gurudongmar Lake, Lachung and Yumthang Valley — 5 Nights / 6 Days
Day 01: NJP / Siliguri → Gangtok
Meet and assistance on arrival at NJP Railway Station / Siliguri. Scenic drive to Gangtok with views along the route. Distance: 130 km | Travel time: about 4 hours. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 02: East Sikkim Sightseeing
Visit Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir and Nathula, subject to permit and weather conditions. Permits included. Return to Gangtok for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Gangtok → Lachen
Travel towards Lachen through the scenic mountain route. Distance: 116 km | Travel time: about 6 hours. Check in at the hotel and overnight stay in Lachen.
Day 04: Gurudongmar Lake → Lachung
Early morning visit to Gurudongmar Lake. Continue to Lachung after sightseeing. The government entry fee for Gurudongmar Lake and Kala Patthar is payable directly by guests. Dinner and overnight stay in Lachung.

Travel Tips
- Winter is very cold in North Sikkim, so carry heavy woollens, thermals, gloves, caps and waterproof shoes. - Gurudongmar is at 17,800 ft. Drink water, move slowly and carry your medicines. Check with a doctor if you have heart, breathing or BP issues. - Carry motion-sickness medicine for the winding roads. - Mobile network is limited, so inform family in advance. - Carry cash in small notes, as ATMs are limited. - Be ready on time for the early starts.
Important Notes
After mid-November, snowfall can close roads to Gurudongmar, Zero Point, Yumthang and Nathula. The itinerary may change for safety, and no refund is given for sightseeing missed due to weather or road closure.
